Not normally a sunglasses person, I think the launch of the Dior So Real sunglasses totally passed me by but somehow these have recently caught my attention. I am happy to spend money on bags or shoes but sunglasses are the thing I regularly loose or break, so spending more than £20 on a pair (+£300 in fact) just isn't going to happen. However these sunnies have become a firm favourite with celebrities and the fashionable elite such as Olivia Palermo, and have filtered down to the UK highstreet with some great dupes now available.
With its distinctive styling - no nose piece and statement brow bar these sunglasses are a bold accessory and come in a variety of colours. At present I have found both black and tortoise versions on the highstreet, from River Island and good old Primark at purse friendly prices and as far as dupes go these are pretty good.
I know for some people dupes are not worth it and they would rather have the real thing but personally i like that brands are releasing "inspired" styles that allow those of us that don't have lots of money to buy into the latest trends and IT items. However i do want to add while i like a good dupe, counterfeit items are another matter - I believe that as long as there is no branding on an item claiming that it is actually made by a designer, then it is a dupe, not a fake and for me this is acceptable.
If you have seen my latest Primark haul you would know that I bought the tortoise pair and I have say love them and for £3 if I loose or break them, I can replace easily. Also based on this gorgeous shot from the blog elliesfavouritethings taken at the SS16 press day, Primark will also be releasing this gorgeous pastel version with gold hardware (along with some other great statement styles) - keeping my eyes peeled for these, need in my life!

Discovering new beauty products has become an indulgence for me, since i started getting beauty boxes such as Birchbox. These are some of my first impressions of some products I’ve been testing for the past month. Simple. I figured it would be a nice way to sum up products I’ve been playing with recently so here we go…
❤Rituals foaming shower gel sensation (£8.50 Rituals)
I have been using both Zensation and Yogi Flow in sample sized bottles from Birchbox. Both smell amazing, a small amount goes a long long way and lathers up well. The foam leaves my skin feeling soft and i love that the fragrance lasts for ages. So far i prefer the Yogi Flow, a little more fruity than Zensation which is more fresh and i need to schedule a trip to Ritual to try out some of the other 4 scents and pick up some full size bottles.
Philip Kingsley Straight hair (£19 Philip Kingsley)
Another Birchbox treat and although i was skeptical that this would make a difference to my frizz prone hair, i was pleasantly surprised and loved so much i will be buying a full size tube once this one runs out, but as you only need a little this will last a while longer. My hair is smooth, soft and definitely straightens easier as the gel is heat activated and offers additional protection. It also doesn't leave hair feeling crunchy or weighed down which some styling products can do.
Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray (£6.99 Boots)
Saw this product mentioned in a couple of YouTube videos over Christmas and after having tried three other texturising sprays that i wasn't happy with, i have finally found one that i love. Offering both volume and hold whilst adding soft texture this spray is a great all rounder and gives my loose waves the added oomph i was looking for. One small note if you do buy small squirts only, too much and you end up with crunchy hair.
Soap & Glory The Ultimelt Deep Purifying Hot Cloth Cleanser (£10 Boots)
A drugstore dupe for the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish this cleanser is the latest addition to my new year skincare regime. Heats up when massaged into the skin, melts makeup off leaving skin soft, supple and smooth. Can leave my face feeling a little dry so only using once or twice a week. Love the cloth that comes in the pack to, a great combination that really leaves my face feeling clean. I originally thought the Liz Earle product was a lot more expensive tan it actually is, so now i have tried this version i may also give the Earle version a try.
OGX Anti-Breakage Keratin Oil Shampoo (£6.99 Boots)
Everyday styling has left my hair needing some extra pampering and this was a product that caught my eye as it contains Argan oils which my hair responds well to. Leaves my hair soft, non frizzy and works well in partner with my heat protector sprays to leave my hair shiny and smooth after styling. However it is a rich shampoo so will be using every other week, as a treatment rather than my everyday shampoo.

January Primark Haul
The first haul of 2016 and of course it is a Primark one. I love watching Primark Haul video's - its a great way to see new products in-store and to see if its worth a visit. So here is my haul after a shopping trip earlier in the week....grab a cuppa and enjoy the video.

Winner of the Dulux colour of the year 2015, Copper Blush epitomizes the trend sweeping the fashion and home world, with both Copper and Rose Gold becoming a must have not just in jewellery but in our homes. While i am not sure i could paint an entire room in this beautiful paint shade, i could definitely embrace a touch of metallic glamour in my home through some accessories or a piece of furniture.
Some of the latest room inspiration pins, from my home Pinterest board. Both Copper and Rose Gold add warmth and a lovely accent to a simple, neutral room - i particularly love the giant bubble lampshades and the statement that they make hung over a huge dining room table, especially grouped together and hung at different heights.

This is a small selection of the copper & rose gold items i have found so far, all very affordable apart from one splurge piece but good lighting is an investment (just don't tell my husband!) and can be the crowning glory of a room.

I find having somewhere to look if i have beauty queries comforting, actually seeing how to apply the latest contour palette or the perfect new eyeshawdow shades, is the best way for me to learn.
Victoria from Inthefrow.com has recently moved towards focusing on the higher end of the fashion and beauty market - featuring, reviewing and working with brands in the designer market, but also still loves to collaborate with favourites such as ASOS. Her videos are very polished like her, and she has managed to create a good balance between showing the designer brands but without coming across like a snob. She gives her viewers a glimpse into luxury that many cannot afford, as well as offering honest reviews on items, so if viewers do want to invest then they know what they are getting and if it is worth the cash. She has a great sense of style, which translates into her lookbook content beautifully as well as her amazing taste in makeup which makes her tutorials enjoyable as well as informative.
When it comes to her videos i particularly love the almost "behind the scenes" angle that she creates, especially the London Fashion week coverage. Also her bridesmaid makeup tutorial has inspired me to recreate for my best friends wedding later this year. These are my favourites from 2015:

Her videos are amazing, very down to earth with honest reviews and a lot of personality. Fleur also operates two channels - her main one is focused on fashion, beauty and lifestyle whereas her second channel is dedicated to Vlogging her life. Whilst i love to watch both channels Fleurdevlog has to be my favourite, as in these videos we get to see her life - this includes her gorgoeus dogs and husband Mike (my hubby has a bit of a man crush on Mike, they even share the same birthday!). This mix of content means there is always something new to watch.
Fleur creates beautiful GRWM videos and these tend to be my favourites to watch, especially when she shows off her amazing braiding skills, but her new lookbook content is also a joy to watch as she always strikes that perfect balance between highstreet looks with a touch of designer - here are my 2015 favourites:

If you are a regular reader you will have seen a few design updates over the last three years, slowly moving away from the very pink theme that i launched with back in 2012. However each time i have never been 100% happy, so have been looking for the perfect new design for over a year and have finally found it. This is perfect timing as a big part of my new years resolutions for 2016 is to throw myself back into my blog and make it the best it can be. Also to improve my photography skills (using the new camera i got from my parents for Christmas) adding a cleaner, more professional finish to the images i add to my layouts.
With a completely different approach the new grid layout is clean, simple, modern and very image focused - something i think was lacking on my traditional 2 column blogger template and again supports my new focus on photography. Up until now i have only ever used free templates but this time decided to purchase a fully customisable one, so as to make the blog exactly what i wanted rather than compromising with the limitations of a standard layout. So if your blog is need of a makeover, i highly recommend Mango Blogs Shop on Etsy - her templates are all beautiful, super easy to install and best of all under £20.

This is perfect timing as a big part of my new years resolutions for 2016 is to throw myself back into my blog and make it the best it can be. Also to improve my photography skills (using the new camera i got from my parents for Christmas) adding a cleaner, more professional finish to the images i add to my layouts.

The world of Pinterest is a magical one, you can stumble across some of the most unexpected things, while scrolling through your feed. I had never heard of Christine Centenera until last week, but the more i learn, the more i love her style. The senior fashion editor of Australian Vogue, who oozes sophisticated chic and is a woman who knows what she likes and has fun with fashion.
A wardrobe built upon a uniform of key black pieces - jeans, trousers, mini skirts mixed with monnochromatic tops, printed dresses and bold accessories (ankle boots or caged heels seem to appear with every look). However these outfits are kept looking fresh by mixing up textures like wool, leather, feathers, fur - a great way to add dimension to a head to toe black look. She also has a keen eye for statement jackets/coats, almost every outfit is topped off with one and they make the perfect partner to her black uniform and worn in the fashionista way, casually draped on the shoulders. I am particularly jealous of the Celine colourblock winter coat, the most amazing piece to look good whilst keeping warm.
This lady is definitely top of my street style list and i will be taking a leaf out of her book, recreating some of my favourite looks and trying to find my own uniform. Is there someone whose style you aspire to recreate for yourself?

An item of clothing that i have struggled with, can look very tarty if styled wrong but with the right partner and accessories is a very chic look. Many of the styles seen in street style are faux leather, as i am sure most people cannot afford the cost of a true leather skirt but these days like faux fur the imitation styles are almost indistinguishable from the real thing.

Whilst trying to compile my January wishlist i realised apart from finding odd items in the sale i often don't buy much in the first month of the year, so i thought before the new season collections arrive i would focus my New year wishlist on the designer handbags i have on my must own list.

A designer handbag for me should be a classic item, something i can pass down to my daughter. For me this means simple, leather and a classic colour especially as these pieces are an investment and should work with everything in my wardrobe. Most of my wishlist are not brand new styles, but bags that i loved from the moment i saw them and know they will pass the test of time.
1. Givenchy Medium Antigona £1,465 - Selfridges
Saw this a year ago and fell in love with the traditional black one but ever since then everyone has been investing in this beauty and after seeing Suzie from Hello October toting round the grey version, i have been lusting after it even more. Very much a investment item but so worth it for the leather quality, simple styling and simplicity.

A designer i knew very little about but this satchel is perfection. It has details that are statement but practical plus the textured leather is beautiful and as the cheapest of the wishlist may be my latest purchase (maybe for my 30th).
3. Chloe Drew Small crossbody £1,140 - Selfridges
Another blogger favourite, but this little bag has so much appeal and is a very classic item and works with so many outfits although the price on this one is scary considering the size of the bag but gorgeous leather and a great selection of colours available.
4. Mulberry Bayswater £895 - Mulberry
The bag that has been on my wishlist for years - the one that sparked my love for designer bags 8 years ago. The bayswater is for me the ultimate in grown up sophistication and i always pop into Mulberry to stroke and say hello when i am near a store/concession. I would love to buy in this beautiful oxblood colour, which although not a traditional classic colour, it is the shade i am always drawn to in Mulberry but would happily have in either black or tan if this wasn't available.
