For me Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a festive jumper. Whether you choose the all out bells and whistles approach or the more simplistic with a touch of sparkle, every girl needs a special jumper for Christmas Day. Over the years I have owned many a tacky reindeer or penguin jumper usually with googly eyes, pom-poms and of course a squeaky nose but these days I much prefer a more stylish approach with subtle sparkle, a fair-isle pattern or a cute character that I can also wear to work when someone inevitably suggests Christmas jumper day or layered up to finish my gift shopping.

This year everywhere has styles to choose from and here are my top picks from the British highstreet and all under £30 - Dorothy Perkins in particular has a great selection.

Merry Chicmas £24.99 - New Look
Christmas Tree Sweatshirt £19.50 - M&S
Sequin Bauble £28 - Dorothy Perkins
Sparkly Snowflakes £26 - Dorothy Perkins
Novelty Pompom Rudolph £26 - Next
Cream and Grey Fairisle print £18 - Sainsburys
Pompom Reindeer Sausage Dog £26 - Dorothy Perkins
Reindeer & fairisle print £14 - Primark
Cosy Polarbear £28 - Next

A recent you tube discovery, the lovely Tanya Burr is an inspiration to all modern women. Youtuber, beauty blogger, business woman (Tanya Burr cosmetics) and now a UN messenger of peace! talk about modern day wonder woman! I was actually inspired to write this piece after watching her "My wardrobe Tour" video where she shares organisation tips and favourite pieces - watch it for yourself here... Wardrobe Tour video

A down to earth woman who knows how to dress for her shape, loves a bit of Mulberry and regularly rocks Topshop at events, her sense of style is fabulous and so is she. Clearly a skirts and dresses kinda gal, shes loves to use these items to add fun print and colour to an outfit, whatever the occasion. Fun is definitely a word i would use to describe her style, she doesn't take fashion too seriously but always looks so put together and polished. Plus she knows the merit of a good accessory - a hat or beautiful bag (very jealous of her collection of Mulberry's in particular the studded Cara Delevinge backpack!) and of course her best accessory, new hubby Jim Chapman.

♥ My favourite looks would have to be:
1. Striped dress with fedora, 2. Floral elbow length cream dress, 3. Bold floral skirt with simple white tee and 4. White midi skirt, mixed material top styled with studded Mulberry backpack.

Starting to think about how to incorporate some subtle touches of luxury and fun to my daily outfits as we head towards the festive period. Really excited to find the faux fur stole, the colour blocking detail makes it look expensive when it really isnt, plus it will look amazing with my winter coat. As i love the snuggly knitwear trend this season, both the textured colour-block and sparkly jumper will tick all the boxes - cute, warm and chic.

Monochrome Faux Fur Stripe Gilet £65 - Topshop, 25th December sparkle Jumper £89 - Boden, Sparkly loafer with pompom £28 - Topshop, Faux fur stole £11 - Primark,
Gold detail ankle boots £29.99 - New Look, Textured colour-block jumper £42 - Topshop
WOW suitcase cross body bag £32 - Accessorize

*Finally found my new everyday scent, Velvet Bloom from Next - "A decadent oriental blend of orange blossom with a rich heart of orchid, soft suede, vanilla and creamy sandalwood.." smells amazing and is perfect for Winter. * An inspiring afternoon spent watching Iris, the documentary about seasoned fashionista Iris Apfel, her life and more importantly her style. * A fresh trim always leaves my hair feeling amazing and for me holds a wave beautifully. * A cute way to add a furry touch to your wardrobe, see some other ways here in my October Installment of my How to Wear series. * In search of some nail art to try over Christmas, love all of these but which to try first? * My bedside table set up - Primark candles (small pineapple & ginger and gold star vanilla), new pink/rose gold Oliver Bonas trinket dish with Nivea night face cream, ginger & lime hand-cream (also Oliver B) and a This Works deep sleep stress less roll on - all my night time essentials. * My kiddy moment for the month, unicorn slippers! Couldn't resist, warm toes in a cute way, good old ASOS. * You know Autumn has arrived when the pretty coffee cups come out at Starbucks, love this leafy design and can't wait for the red cups because you know what that means......Christmas!

* One of the highlights of the month, Harry Potter world with my family. The costume department was one of my favourite areas, totally fell in love with the outfit worn by Clèmence Poèsy in the Goblet of Fire, especially the shoes (so cute, could totally wear with jeans) and who doesn't love a good hat, especially one that looks like a giant rain drop. * A small selection of my favourite moments, from the 100+ photos I took during the visit. * Riding a flying motorbike with my sister in the sidecar, a sentence i never thought i would say! Well worth a trip if you get the chance...Warner Bros Studio tour. * My new go to wardrobe item and sharing three ways to wear here. * Cheeky new addition to my jewellery collection, a statement cluster of stars from Accessorize. * Making a new discovery, the beautiful brand Oliver Bonas and my current wishlist. * Über excited that my birthday trip is now all booked, cannot wait - my mum and sister are whisking me off to Paris and Disneyland to celebrate my 30th. * Great Sunday afternoon, a pizza-off between hubby and me, both were super yummy. * Amazing new bag collection from Tods, the Wave - beautiful if not a tad expensive but tickled me that there is a small one called a micro wave!

* Best way to start the day - Starbucks. * My new outfit for an evening wedding reception - stunning ASOS dress, black peep toe heels, statement necklace and a striped box clutch (plus cute furry sidekick). * Sunday errand outfit - skinny jeans, striped tee, tartan scarf and croc effect sneakers. * A new look for me - a suedette mini, oversized knitwear and sneakers. * Pinterest pin of the month - girly blush and gold detailing, a perfect combo. * Enjoying the. Vogue and Alexa Chung mini series on the fashion industry, check it out on the Vogue youtube channel, some great insights into other more obscure areas and how social media has changed the industry. * The second highlight of the month, went to Stylist live with one of my best friends and fellow fashionista @Fashionlind and neither of us could resist posing in front of the pink balloon wall and creating our own Stylist front cover. A great day out for all ages, think the Clothes show meets Vogue festival - shopping mixed with learning workshops in a variety of areas such as fashion, food, beauty, business and lifestyle. * Casual Friday attire - ripped skinny jeans, black tee, chunky long cardi and sneakers. * My October wish list, a new series showcasing the items that have caught my eye and i would love to buy this month.

There is something very satisfying about breaking out the chunky knitwear, maybe because I know winter is on its way. A great transitional item for when it's cold but you don't want to break out the big winter coat yet, also great when the weather is unseasonably warm.

When it comes to knitwear especially the chunky kind I tend to stick to a couple of rules. If you opt for super chunky always team it with a fitted bottom half - skinny jeans or tapered trousers so as not to swamp the body. If you go for a skirt (mini or midi) always tuck it in, thinner styles work fully tucked in but for chunkier styles work the casual side tuck, this will help to show off the waist and add a touch of chic. The Leather midi skirt, camel jumper and plaid heel combo above is my favourite look, a great way to add in warmth to a stylish outfit and perfect for work. Although the aim of the chunky knit is to be warm you want to achieve this without looking like a yeti!

My knitwear tends to be in neutral colours teamed with a statement necklace, hat or scarf - my favourite is a cute grey jumper from Topshop, but if you are brave enough throwing in a stripe or some bolder colour can be very stylish.
