I love to discover a new brand and the latest for me is Oliver Bonas. I had heard of the brand, ever since I received a fabulous necklace for my birthday a few years ago but have never actually shopped in the store. I walk past the little shop in St Pancras station so many times but never remember to pop in (usually remember when i am running for my train) but there was a pop up stand at the recent Stylist live event so I thought I would have a look and fell in love..... Although the stand was relatively small they had some amazing pieces on show and it gave a great sense of what the brand is about and the collections they have in store/online - from cute accessories and beauty gifts to quirky homeware and stunning made to order furniture. This stylish brand has so many beautiful items to offer, however worth noting some are a bit more on the pricey side but you pay for the good quality. How beautiful are the armchairs above - compact, colourful and would look amazing in my bedroom.

After a long browse on the beautifully designed website when i got home, i found a few items that definitely need to be purchased, so here is my wishlist...
Chevron Throw £49 | Handwash £7 each - Neroli & Bergamot, Lycee & Green Melon | Ginger & Lime handmade soap £5 | Wild Primrose & Sweet Pea candle £20 | Acrylic storage box £38 | Washbags - Small neon leopard print £13.50 and Large flamingo print £19.50 | Contrast Button Tub chair £395

So during the Stylist event I may have made a couple of cheeky purchases (for research purposes of course) plus who doesn't love a 10% off event. I bought a stunning oversized colour block cardigan which is super soft with batwing sleeves, a lime & ginger hand cream which smells amazing and a china pink/rose gold spot trinket dish. All available online now or the end of October.
Now Christmas is fast approaching, I will make sure to send this post link to my husband and see if Santa leaves any Oliver Bonas goodies under the tree - fingers crossed.

The number one item in my Autumn wardrobe - fell in love with this style after seeing so many amazing outfits on Pinterest especially one of Alexa Chung teaming hers with a pussy-bow blouse and loafers - effortless and chic. I have had mine now for about a month and wanted to share with you 3 ways i have been styling it - a nice mix of smart and casual looks.
So many options on the high-street both real and faux suede and i went for this simple A-line style, in a black suedette fabric with two pockets - a bargain price, great fit and style.
All outfits would be worn with tights (little cold for bare legs) but you all know what they look like, at least 1 item of jewellery (mood dependent) and a fabulous bag from my collection.

LOOK 1
A great outfit for shopping, simple but with some great accessories.
Classic striped tee - Boden,  with a pair of cute pompom flats - last year's Topshop (similar styles here and here) and a fedora to top it off - Accessorize. Would look great finished off with a structured tote, perhaps my black Kate Spade Beau.

LOOK 2
My favourite look out of the three, comfy and casual but still trendy.
An oversized piece of knitwear, this jumper is Topshop last year but snuggly and perfect with a side tuck (similar styles here and here). Styled with croc effect slipon sneakers - New Look, that offer some additional texture to a black outfit and a chunky blanket scarf - old Primark (similar styles here and here). Probably topped off with a simple cross-body bag, in keeping with the casual feel of the outfit.

LOOK 3
A little more sophisticated look, very monochrome and great for the office.
A simple roll neck top - H&M,  for warmth layered with a super furry Gilet - Topshop and finished with some western style ankle boots - Primark. Styled with my tan H&M tassel bag to add a splash of colour and continue the 70's vibe.

A new blog series - i wanted to share with you items that have caught my eye during the month....
Definitely thinking ahead to the cold weather (even though it is still oddly warm in the UK) so most of the bits catching my eye follow a warm and furry theme this month. My bank balance is more Primark than Prada at the moment so most of these are high-street pieces but it wouldn't be a wishlist without a couple of more expensive items that i have been lusting after.

Lace Shift Dress  £75 - Topshop, Slouchy Textured Tote  £149 - Boden
Happy Mini Bag  £625 - Hill&Friends, Upper East side Sweatshirt  £25 - Topshop
Pompom hat  £35 - Jigsaw, Faux Fur Pompom Scarf  £35 - Accessorize
Jersey Boyfriend Blazer  £46 - Topshop

A controversial item in the history of fashion, however with advancements in the textile industry faux fur is now a common occurrence on the highstreet and a lovely way to add warmth and texture to an Autumn/Winter outfit. Another wardrobe "marmite" item, many do not like to wear fur even if it is faux, but personally as long as it isn't real i am happy to add a touch of furry to my wardrobe and it is very on trend for this season especially in accessories.

The most common way to wear is a coat or gilet, with most stores both low and high end offering styles most seasons - plain colours, leopard or even bold coloured fur for those brave enough to chance looking like Elmo or his Sesame street friends. However this can be overwhelming for a lot of people and for me i like to keep things classic in a solid colour and let the rest of my outfit and shoes do the talking. My go to item is a gorgeous furry bomber jacket that i got from M&S a few years ago that is so soft, very simple and keeps me snuggly warm (although if i am not careful and leave it lying around the cat likes to snooze on it).

A more modern way to add this touch of luxury to an outfit is through accessories - a multi tone stole or scarf, a bobble hat or something a little more quirky like a furry clutch bag or a pompom keyring (extra style points if it has ears or eyes like a little Fendi monster). For me the accessories element is much easier to play with and so many options available in highstreet stores, Accessorize especially has some beautiful pieces in their new collections.

* This post is about Faux fur, however some inspirational imagery taken from Pinterest may be real fur.
