Summer Primark Haul

The long awaited June box finally arrived, issues resulting in late delivery this month meant i had to wait an additional week but they did send over a cute little teaser video, which summed up the theme of the box beautifully.....

CONTENTS
My little world magazine, with beauty and fashion tips/interviews
Beautiful illustration by Kanako
My Little Beauty Sea Salt body scrub
Kerastase Ciment Thermique Blow-dry care
Loved by Sarah Lavoine Nail Polish
Sarah Lvoine Sunglasses
My Little Nautical flowerpots

Very French themed again this month (last month's was Provence) but very cute and sticking to its heritage. Overall i was impressed with the box and its contents however as usual there were a couple of things that i didn't like.

First up the positives: great theme, good selection of beauty items especially like the nail polish in a beautiful "sea blue" shade especially as it's not a colour i would normally go for and the My Little Beauty body scrub smells amazing i can't wait to use it. The sunglasses were a nice surprise, a very classic shape and colour with a vintage vibe, will get a lot of wear out of these so big thumbs up (now could just do with a cute glasses case next month!).

Negatives: Wish they would bring back the glossy magazine version of my little world, i like that the fold out paper version is eco friendly but it just isn't as nice and doesn't have as much content. The fold out poster is also a nice touch but who has the wall space for a poster this big every month. Product wise the only odd one this month is the paper flower pot/tubs???? i just don't get them or the French Rivera connection - would love to know what everyone else has ended up using them for.....leave me a comment below.

Overall this box has made me feel quite summery and wanting another holiday!!
Wonder what the July box will be? hoping for another collaboration.

If you still haven't subscribed to My Little box visit mylittlebox.co.uk to find out more.

A popular # on social media, so though i would join in and share what's on my phone and the apps i use everyday. First up the phone - a Samsung Galaxy S 5 Mini in white, with a pink & turquoise leopard print cover from Ebay (my one bugbear with technology, not many cute cases available for any phone other than iPhone without hours of trawling Ebay) and a cute wallpaper featuring Fifi Lapin, from Pinterest.

Obviously i use all the normal apps on my phone - messages / contacts / camera but i wanted to share the additional ones that make my life and blogging easier:

Pinterest
An app that doesn't need an introduction - really addictive and a great source of inspiration for everything, from fashion to food or interior design (even have a board of ideas for my best friends wedding). Plus a useful way to transfer images between my phone, desktop and iPad, as i always forget my cables. Follow glitterfashion

Instagram
The one app i couldn't live without, i am obsessed with it and spend far too much time scrolling through my feed, but love finding beautiful images and new people to follow. I drive my husband mad wanting to photograph everything, especially when he wants to eat. This app is a great photo journal, i like being able to document life. Follow theglitterfashionista

Twitter
I have had a Twitter account for a while now but only recently really got into using it as I struggle with the 140 character limit! Great for following your favourite brands/bloggers, keeping up to date with events/promotions and also oddly a great way to get issues resolved with companies such as BT. Follow GlitterFashioni

A Beautiful Mess
The first photo editor app i ever used - allows you to crop, collage, add borders and words. Perfect tool for enhancing your photos before sharing however limited to basic editing.

Moldiv
The newest app on both my phone and iPad - the best photo editor i have used, with a wide range of frames allowing you to feature multiple photos in one image as well as the basic tools to enhance the image. I really like the variety that this app offers, from basic shapes to intricate collages and the ability to layer images. This app has helped me elevate my photography and give me the opportunity to create some gorgeous imagery.

My O2
It may seem boring but I like to keep to an eye on my phone bill and my data limits as i hate unexpected cost especially when i am abroad and sending lots of messages. This app allows me to do all of that at the touch of a button - if your on O2 and don't have it yet, get it!

HSBC Fast Balance
As with the O2 app, i like to be able to quickly check up on my bank balance without the rigmarole of logging into the full site. Great snapshot of the last few transactions and my current balance, would recommend to any HSBC banker.

ASOS
Last but not least, not so much about organisation but just as important the ASOS app means i can browse and shop on the go - great if i need to find a last minute outfit or accessory but a little dangerous as i can get carried away and spend lots of money.

*All apps mentioned available in both Google Play store and iTunes.

A somewhat new addition to any fashionista's closet, the Chambray shirt has come into its own in recent years.

A basic item, so cute and so versatile, looks great come rain or shine - layered with a chunky jumper or simple tee, with a smart pencil or fun printed skirt and for the bold almost us teamed with your favourite pair of jeans in a double denim look. Also because it is a staple item it goes with most colours - a sophisticated monochrome outfit or your bright skinny jeans, treat it like a white tee and have fun mixing and matching.

For me the perfect partner to a chambray shirt has to be a statement necklace, worn with either an open collar or buttoned up for a preppy look, adding just a touch of polish to such a casual piece of clothing. Personally i cannot pull of a double denim look, but i do love to pair mine with a printed skirt or skinny black jeans and an oversized necklace.

Let me know your favourite way to style...

"Travel is the ultimate inspiration"

After my recent holiday to the Greek Isles, i wanted to share the three items in my suitcase that i wore everyday - these are simple essentials that complimented my holiday style.

I am normally a trilby kinda girl but during the first couple of days my hubby stole my straw trilby so i decided to buy a panama hat whilst in Turkey (handmade locally and gorgeous) and have to say best hat ever! With a wider brim than a trilby i found this to be perfect for everyday and will defiantly get a lot of use even in the UK - a great stylish way to cool in the sunshine.

A trend that has taken the highstreet by storm, the straw tote is a must have for any holiday. Large and roomy enough for your beach stuff or for use out sightseeing, this neutral bag goes with everything from your favourite summer dress to a pair of casual shorts and a vest. Also such a variety now available - i am totally in love with the cream and blue stripe style (above top left corner) with the fun pompom detailing, a bag that has been seen all over Instagram.

The perfect finishing touch to any holiday outfits - layered chains. Whether you have a pre-layered item or simply layer up your favourite necklaces this very boho, relaxed approach to jewellery is great for holidays and is effortless chic. I really like the styles that feature moons, hamsa hands and jewels - a nice spiritual mix of charms.

My Essentials
Panama hat - Turkey
Oversized straw tote - Primark
Pink gem & Hamsa hand necklace - Pieces @ ASOS
Three Layer necklace, Sun/Moon/Hamsa Hand - ASOS

All of these items were worn everyday of my holiday (only 1 day did i wear a different necklace, needing a pop of colour) - the tote especially was my favourite buy. Large enough to fit all my daily essentials (camera, selfie stick, suntan lotion, water, money etc) but also stylish and chic, even hubby was happy to carry - I would like to find some cute pompoms to add some colour but overall a fantastic bag and only £8.

What are the holiday essential items in your suitcase?

Planning what to wear to a wedding can be very stressful - more so if you have multiple occasions in a short space of time (the year i got married i had 5 wedding including my own!!) so here are a couple of ideas - a mixture of highstreet and some higher end items but all perfect for wearing on that special day and looking chic.

Cute & Flirty: This great little number reminds me of a mermaid, the colour palette is beautiful and quite sophisticated. The mixture of an intricate floral and the sequins is something a bit different but keeps the dress looking very modern. I really like the combination of the halter style and the full skirt, adds good proportion and balance so would be flattering on lots of body shapes. Teamed with a silver leather clutch and mint sandals this look would be perfect for any kind of wedding.

Beautiful Boho: My favourite look - this gorgeous scuba maxi is the right mix of subtle floral and structure and great with a little sleeve as some people like to keep their arms covered. The double layer top is very on trend and flattering, plus makes the dress look more expensive than it is. Wanted to keep the accessories simple for this look - its all about the feminine almost watercolour print - so teamed it with white sandals and a boho floral headband in a great peachy shade, picking out highlights from the dress palette. Really wish i had a wedding to wear this to, it's gorgeous.

Modern Florals: The slightly controversial outfit pick - trousers for a wedding are a no no for some, but i think this statement floral pair are great, especially when mixed with the right accessories. Using the trousers as the base for this outfit, i have layered a floaty cami top, white heeled sandals and using the pink from the print added a few bright pops with the simple clutch bag and amazing oversized peony necklace (a tad pricey but the best necklace i have seen in ages and based on my favourite flower, which was in my bridal bouquet). A modern way to wear florals without wearing the traditional dress.

Which would you choose - Cute & Flirty, Beautiful Boho or Modern Floral??

Beauty loves this month:
* Cute find on ASOS while browsing for holiday bits, a make up bag big enough for all the daily items in my handbag. * Decided to try a detox tea after hearing a lot of people raving about it, i went for the Skinny Mint Teatox and have been very impressed. Only went for a 14 day trial pack but impressed how much less bloated I feel and that both the day & night tea taste great (did worry they would taste horrible). * Sharing what's inside my make up bag with all my favourite daily products. * Whilst shopping for my holiday I may have become a little bit obsessed with beauty mini's! I love that so many products/brands are now available, especially the Garnier Micellar water and now no more mess decanting products into small bottles. Went for my usual holiday hair products - Charles Worthington Sunshine protector shampoo & conditioner which leaves my hair soft and smells lush. * A little gift from L'Occitane - best freebie ever!!! Great selection of products, all smell amazing. * My Little Provence Box - more L'Occitane products, always good however left feeling a bit disappointed by the other items. A bangle that's too big for my wrist and a magnetic dress dolly (not quite what I imagine many women wish to have on their fridge) sadly another month where i am questioning cancelling my subscription. * Cute summer image from theglitterguide.com - sand, sun and flamingos, perfect partners. * A selection of my favourite quotes, always good to be inspired.

What I have bought / worn this month:
* My latest obsession, this gorgeous Kate Spade clutch is the ultimate summer accessory.
* New layered necklace from ASOS - really loving Hamsa hands at the moment and the mixture of this with the pink gem is a great combination, a great summer piece of jewellery.
* Couldn't resist these little textured zebra sandals on a recent trip to Primark, simple yet stylish and only £14 (Crete appreciated them!). * Nothing beats a statement jewellery piece especially in a neon or pastel colour palette, my favourites from the Pinterest world. * Another recent jewellery purchase, a neon statement necklace from my favourite store Accessorize, bold and beautiful my favourite combination. * A tribal print pair of shoes featured on Primark's Instagram feed - really need to see in the flesh but may end up adding to my vast collection, a good heel height and something a bit different. * Lovely sunny day in the UK so I made the most of it and dug out my faithful floral midi and sandals - that afternoon it rained!  * New colour for me - a neon tropical print kimono, great teamed with skinny jeans and a vest top.

All the rest:
* New style series on the blog, "How to a Wear" - an inspirational view on how to work items/colours/prints into your wardrobe. Make sure to check it out - latest is the Little White Dress. * The perfect start to my holiday....a strawberry daiquiri at the airport bar, yum yum. * Krazy for Kate - a collection of the most beautiful new Kate Spade pieces that have me wanting to rob a bank! all fun items that add the perfect touch of quirky to an outfit. * Serious shoe envy - Sophia Webster's closet, so many gorgeous shoes, i want them all!! * Bought the new book from Louise Roe - "Front Roe" and instantly fell in love with the inside cover, a beautiful collection of photo's that show her style and sense of fashion. A nice coffee table book with some good tips, a great addition to my bookcase. * A naughty little birthday purchase! Find out more about my new Hayden bag. * The most stylish Shaun the Sheep in London, only he could pull off a Cath Kidston ditsy floral - part of the Shaun in the City trail.
* Read about my magical McQueen experience, when i visited the Savage Beauty exhibition at the V&A, the most amazing exhibit I have ever been too by far.

See you next month...
