Recently i have invested in quite a lot of new make up products - to perfect my everyday look. Trying to create a fresh face with a natural flush and statement eyes.

BareMinerals Prime Time BB Primer-Cream Daily Defense SPF 30 - have used the original version of this for a few years but decided to switch to the primer with BB to give me a great base but also allows me to wear alone when I want lighter coverage. This product is great, lightweight and creamy - £23 Boots.

BareMinerals READY SPF20 Foundation and BareMinerals bareSkin® Perfecting Veil a great combination of products that gives full coverage but remains very light on the skin and gives a very natural look. £26 & £22 from Boots.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - the best I have found and at an amazing price of £3.99. Offers great coverage and isn't cakeie like some concealers can be. Best applied with my little pink egg sponge from Primark which i think was £1.50.

Benefit Feelin' Dandy- contains Posietint poppy-pink tinted lip & cheek stain, High beam luminescent complexion enhancer, Dandelion a brightening face powder and ultra plush dandelion lip gloss The best selection of products to add a little flush to my cheeks and add highlights to where they are needed. Bought as a tester, so all minis, will need to buy the full size when this runs out. £25.50 for the set from Boots/ASOS.

The tools: Baremineral brushes, Primark sharpener and Boots OB eyelash curlers.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara - hands down my favourite mascara so far (and I have tried a few) gives me lovely long, separated lashes that last all day without giving me panda eyes and a great price a £7.99. Teamed with groomed brows using L'Oreal Brow artist and finally adding a touch of shimmer with By Terry Terrybly Khol pencil, #3 Bronze Generation around £32 but i got mine through My Little Box subscription (need to find where to buy before mine runs out as it is an amazing product).

The one element that varies day to day dependent on my mood and outfit, is my lips. Base is always my H&M Passion-fruit lip balm giving me soft lips ready for the colour.
Colour comes from My Little Beauty lip crayon, My Little Beauty lipstick and Benefit Dandelion lipgloss.(alot of the lip products i have at the moment have been again from My Little box Beauty subscription).

DKNY Delicious Delights Fruity Rooty - my new spring fragrance. Wanted to try something a little lighter and not so floral, this one has a beautiful fruity scent in an equally gorgeous bottle. £36 from Boots.

Most of the products above were purchased from Boots, only because it is my favourite store to purchase beauty and i can it all in one place - have linked products where possible. Also more information about My Little box Subscription available here.

Everyone has an Icon, be that in sports, life or in my case fashion - someone to aspire to play/be/dress like, and while we should remember we are all individuals in this world, it is nice to have some to aspire to. There are three such women that have become my style icon's, all for different reasons but never the less i do find myself drawn to their take on fashion and like to use it as my inspiration, while i cultivate my own style. With beautiful elements from all three that i try to build into my own outfits.

A true American fashionista, always polished and well groomed this lady could make a bin bag look chic. Her impeccable taste in shoes and accessories seem to finish off any outfit - whether she is at an event or walking her dog. I am particularly drawn to Olivia as she loves her statement necklaces, a girl after my own heart, and knows when to add one to make an outfit go from good to wow. Not really one to push the boundaries, she knows what suits her and sticks to it - a true style formula.
Key element: The value of fabulous accessories

A fairly recent favourite, who on the opposite side of the spectrum from Olivia has a much more casual, relaxed style but still quite classic. A true jeans and tee girl at heart - but knows how to wear with style. I think her style appeals to me as she is more of a girl next door type, more relate-able, however she knows how to glam up like a pro.

Key element: Keep it simple

The last of my style icons, is the wonderfully quirky Fearne Cotton. I love the rock chick elements within her style mixed with classic and usually a beautiful handbag. Always gorgeous but in that "i threw it together" way, that looks effortless especially when in her go to jeans uniform. The mix of prints and colour she wears is amazing, she never seems afraid to try new combinations. Nice too that she is very much a highstreet girl - so many great Topshop items mixed in alongside some gorgeous designer gems.

Key element: How to add print and colour to everyday
(plus everything looks better with a Mulberry bag!)

Who do you consider to be your style icon? Maybe its your mum, not a celebrity.

From single to triple, French to Dutch, fishtail to milkmaid, skinny to super chunky - braids come in all shapes and sizes and work in almost all lengths of hair - a new hair obsession of mine....

Check out my Hair board on Pinterest for these and other cute braid styles.

Lately i have been wearing a side French braid with either a ballerina bun or ponytail, I love how it is an easy relaxed hairstyle but still looks polished for work - quite simple but still mastering the basics (YouTube has some great tutorial video's). Need a bit more practice on the more intricate styles, but by the summer i will be rocking some of the beautiful braids above - so much more chic than a simple ponytail on a hot day.

What is your braid of choice? Have you mastered the more complex, intricate styles - if so please send me pics, would love to see.

Have a great weekend x

Not my normal style of footwear however i needed something comfy and cute to wear at the weekends. Whether you want texture, print, colour or something a bit more edgy, most brands have at least one style but here are my top picks in store now:

Croc effect - Topshop £20, Calf Hair Leopard - Next £38
Mint Snakeskin effect - New Look £14.99, Silver Metallic Quilted - Kate Spade £167
Leather Snakeskin effect - Kurt Geiger £99, Cascading floral - Ted Baker @ ASOS £85
Printed floral - Kurt Geiger £120, Black Perforated - Next  £24

After much debate i opted for the New Look pair but in a gorgeous pastel lilac shade rather than the mint, as they didn't have them in my size and as these are just a weekend pair i couldn't justify spending a fortune. Some of the styles are very masculine and clompy looking but these are very cute and feminine - will look nice with jeans as well as my summer dresses.

Which pair would you choose?

"Smoothing, refreshing & replenishing night cream-gel."

When I heard about this revolutionary new product from the body shop I was intrigued. After reading many reviews online raving about the benefits i decided to give it a go. I was still a little hesitant as at £22 it isn't the cheapest product on the market but i do love the Body Shop and know their products are worth the extra pennies.

"Discover our new Drops of Youth™ Bouncy Sleeping Mask, enriched with Edelweiss stem cells. Designed to be left on overnight, it leaves skin looking bouncier and feeling replenished." - thebodyshop.co.uk

Initial reactions:
Texture: Very odd consistency, a cross between a cream and a gel which gives a cooling feel to the skin once applied.  Takes a little while to sink in too, best to apply well before bedtime or your face ends up kinda stuck to the pillow!
Application: Simple, small scoop of the cream along with the massage guidelines to "stimulate your lymphatic system, encouraging circulation for skin that feels renewed and bouncy". Like giving yourself a mini facial every night.
Massage guidelines

Scent: Pleasant smell, a very light almost cucumbery scent, something a bit different.
Packaging: A gorgeous glass jar gives a premium feel to the product, however not travel friendly as it is rather weighty!

Month reactions:
Left my skin feeling fresh and soft for the first week or so however have been using this for a month now and whilst my skin is softer and a little plumper, it is also now all red and blotchy around my cheeks and nose! Nothing else new in my skin care regime so sadly not sure I will ever re-buy this, although I may retry once my skin clears up.

I have a Primark addiction at the moment, totally open and honest about it to, I cannot resist popping into my local store just for a look and i never seem to leave without at least 1 item. Mainly items from the accessories and homeware collections that have me memorized at the moment (who can resist a beautiful bedding set for less than £20 or a owl shaped candle for £2) although the clothing hasn't really grabbed me yet (still that awkward in between collections) but i do like a good basic tee or vest top.

The latest to grab my attention was this pair of shoes, featured in Look Magazine - the moment i saw them i knew i needed them in my life for the summer, the perfect partner to a fabulous new midi skirt from ASOS or my faithful skinny jeans.

Raffia Ghillie Heel £18

Now on a mission to find in store - i am going to London in April for my birthday and there will be a Tottenham court road store visit and i am hoping to find these (along with a few other bits). Damn Primark for not having an online store, i seem to spend a lot of my time hunting for items i have seen in magazines/blogs, it drives my hubby nuts. So wish me luck finding these .

If any of you have found/bought these beauties please let me know on social media.

"Life is better when your covered in Glitter!"

What I have bought / worn this month:
* Oversized, lightweight and spotty, the perfect combination for a spring shirt from good old ASOS, I wore this with a turquoise New Look statement necklace and skinny jeans. * New earrings from Topshop, semi precious Onyx arrows. I saw these in one of Fleur De Force's videos and instantly bought them. So cute and great for everyday although not so phone friendly. * Primark mini haul - basic vest top, "Wake me up when it's Friday" lounge trousers and matching sweatshirt top, striped smock dress, tan perforated ballet flats (to replace a pair from last year that I wore to death), giant heart necklace and gold/glitter bunting necklace.
* Cute and for charity plus a designer label for as little as a fiver, I just couldn't resist this Lulu Guinness tote bag in association with Sainsbury's, three designs available. * Finally found a cute watch, my previous one broke and I have been looking for ages and great for only £12.99 from New Look. Rose gold hardware with a grey rubber strap. * Another day, another spotty shirt combo, this time with my absolute favourite necklace from Forever 21 and my gorgeous Vivienne Westwood jelly bow ballets. * Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2015 - my two favourite presentations. The talented and quirky shoe designer Sophia Webster, with her circus inspired collection and the latest offer from my favourite brand Mulberry, including the newest addition to my wish list. Make sure to check out both of my collection round up's on the blog.

Hair & Beauty loves this month:
* The latest in my make up bag, new Bare Minerals foundation and Mineral veil , Maybelline lash sensational mascara and Arcancil Paris Starliner black waterproof eyeliner alongside my favourite Essie nail polish. * Decided to see what all the hype is about and took the plunge with my first Benefit makeup collection, Feelin' Dandy - Posietint, High Beam, Dandelion powder and lip gloss, perfect little set to compliment my everyday natural look. * Cute spring nail polish from H&M, pastel confetti (although not that long lasting sadly). * Obsessed with braids at the moment, two great looks with a large front braid with both a messy bun and low ponytail, the perfect mix of relaxed and chic for everyday. * Garnier Micellar water - can totally see why this has become a beauty favourite. Great at removing make up and daily grime although I do find it can irritate my eyes so still using in conjunction with Garnier Express 2in1 eye makeup remover. * Frenchie - My Little Box this month, with three great beauty pieces for more on the contents check out my post here. * There has been a lot of hype in the blogging world about this amazing new sleep mask from The Body Shop, "Drops of Youth Bouncy sleeping mask" - slightly pricey at £22 but so far I am impressed - review to follow in March. Have you tried this?

All the rest:
* This months favourites from my Pinterest boards - pastels and spring styling, getting me in the mood for the warmer weather. * A very productive afternoon spent re-organising my Pinterest boards, fresh board covers and some great new finds. * New social media logo for The Glitter Fashionista - simple yet stylish. * Have been waiting for this since it's release was announced, The Glam Guide is a fabulous collection of advice, inspiration and experiences from my favourite Blogger/youtuber Fleur De Force - make sure you check out her channel * A nice discovery in Waterstones, my favourite Paris streetstyle book now has a partner, that's dedicated to shoes!! Two loves combined, shoes + Paris = happy me. * The last of my Christmas pennies spent on this cute kitty cushion from Next, I love to sit and watch Willow on the bed as she has no idea what to make of it (think she may have even tried to wash it a couple of times!) * Gorgeous Valentines / anniversary flowers from hubby, a beautiful mix of colours and includes my favourite Gerbera flowers. * The one item from the Primark Spring/summer press day coverage that I had to have, after seeing everywhere on social media. A perfect pastel, mixed pattern bedding set - even better at £11 for the set! May have to go back and see about the matching throw and scatter cushion.
