I wanted to do a small post on my kitten Willow becoming an adult. I yet don't have any children but Willow is my little baby. She has become a massive part of my life after my previous kitten Mulberry was tragically run over, so she is very precious to me.

She is such an individual, with a strong character unlike any other cat i have ever owned. I do sometimes think she thinks she is a dog, some of her mannerisms are very un-cat like.
Talking to the toaster, sitting in the shower tray, an odd love for bags (handbags or paper and plastic - she isn't fussy) and fighting with the printer are all highlights in a typical day for Willow.

In celebration i have put together a collection of my favourite Willow pictures from the last year - all showing her cute, good natured self and that she can be a real poser!

It is that time of year again - my favourite in fact, when Mulberry showcase their take on the new season. This seasons invitation - a butterfly cleverly weighted to sit and balance anywhere was interesting and interactive. Mulberry have had great fun with this in the lead up to the show, with the butterfly appearing on a taxi, on a Claridges doorman and in other random un-butterfly like places.

Throughout the show Twitter@MulberryEditior was keeping us all up to date with pictures of key pieces/fabrics in the show. A nice way to describe what was coming down the catwalk, in more detail. The wonders of modern technology mean that within a couple of hours of the show all the details, looks and interviews are already on the Mulberry website - below is a collection of images from both the official website and blog summing up the new collection and the feel behind AW13.

THE DETAILS

With an rural England theme, the AW13 collection proves further how Mulberry always manages to return to it heritage roots, this season using floral elements in interesting and unexpected ways.
A collection with a varied mix of fabrics (leather, tweed and sequins), mixed colour palettes (dark autumnal colours such as plum, black, grey and teal with lighter highlights of white, pastel pink and bright yellow), and varied textures including fur trims, sherling and angora.
Made up of simple seperates that can be worn alone or layered up - skinny trousers, tunic style tops, pleated mini skirts in supple leather, cape like coats, simple skater dresses and lots of gloves -  in both the classic size and elbow length.

As usual a large part of the collection is the famous Mulberry bag. Every season Emma Hill wows us with such beautifully crafted pieces of leather art that are perfectly on trend but at the same time a timeless classic piece that all women should have in their wardrobe.
This season was no exception, along with updates to the SS13 Willow tote (which i actually prefer in the autumnal colours rather than the spring pastel tones) and the classic Bayswater, the new AW13 bag is called the Suffolk. A very ladylike bag with some beautiful classic Mulberry elements and hardware.

Here are the show highlights.....

Also if you want to check out the whole show - watch it HERE ....

As usual after watching the Mulberry show i feel really inspired - loving a lot of pieces in the collection.
I really love that Mulberry also cater to man's best friend - Max the poodle models the doggie wear so well, although Willow was sad to see no kitten wear made it onto the catwalk!

What did you think of the show / collection?

So 1 year ago i decided to get involved in the blogging world, originally as just a forum for my opinions about fashion and all things beautiful in this world and so The Glitter Fashionista was born. Since then i have found a lot of fulfillment using this blog to communicate with like minded people and also found a lot of inspiration within the fashion blogging world.

My favourite moments from the past 12 months would be attending London Fashion weekend with FashionLind, the day my beautiful Willow arrived home - a tiny ball of squeaky fluff and the cherry on top, finally getting my Mulberry Tillie.

I would like to say thank you to all my followers & readers, your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Here's to another year of fashion and all that glitters.

Happy One Year!

* Beautiful food mixer - by Kenwood, this would look gorgeous in my kitchen. * ASOS Bunny ballet flats £25, have been lusting over these for months and finally my size was available.
* Willow helping me with website design. * The SNOW, i normally love snow however the endless ice and falling over somewhat ends the romantic veil it creates. Willow loved it though jumping around like a little bunny in the snow drifts - all good till she disappeared in a deep spot.
* Gorgeous Mulberry illustration found on Pinterest. * My sale bargain from River Island - tweed and leather jacket, bargain at £20. * H&M floral skirt - on my SS13 wishlist, great for the office. * Blurred catwalk image, from the SS13 Mulberry show (including the great Anna Wintour) - love this image so much it is now my Twitter header.

All of the above pictures are from my holiday to the Lake District. I have only chosen a few pictures to share as it was a very wet and windy break so not many beautiful imagery was captured!

* Our hotel The Regent by the Lake - inside and out. * The wet and windswept explorer, out on a local walk. * The Rheged Centre a collection of galleries/food/shops all inside a Cumbria hill side. * Me in the rain - my normal attire isn't really rain friendly however i think i am working the waterproof and wellies well. * A gorgeous waterfall (blurred imaged due to rain!) also a rainy day view across the hills. * The highlight of our trip to a wildlife park - the elegant, graceful giraffes. * A selection of views (even a hint of sunshine!)

* The highlight of the entire holiday - a small detour on the way home to York, home of  the Mulberry factory store, my new favourite place! and my beautiful purchase an over sized Tillie satchel.

I am not really one for designer pieces but Mulberry bags are my Achilles heel. Although i am lucky enough to own a vintage Roxanne, which was second hand, i decided that once i got promoted at work i would treat myself. After many trips to my local factory outlet - Bicester Village, i still had not found a bag i was happy with. Although there were as couple within my budget they weren't classic styles and i am a strong believer in only buying pieces that you love.

Yesterday however i struck gold......
On the way back from my holiday in the Lake District i managed to talk my husband into a sneaky visit to the York Mulberry factory shop, after reading a rave review by one of my favourite bloggers: A Little Bird Told Me "buying-mulberry-bag-for-less"

I have to say that i wasn't looking forward to finding the store in the maze that is York however apart from a minor mishap with the sat nav we arrived in one piece and were meet by a quaint store that beautifully summed up the English heritage behind the brand. The store itself was very traditional York on the outside whilst glossy and modern inside.

As i entered the store (after leaving hubby parked in the street) I was sceptical that there would be anything in this gorgeous shop within my budget. I decided that for my sanity i would ask the sales assistant and thank god i did! I explained how much i had to spend and the styles i loved and 5 mins later i was stood by a display counter with 5 bags in front of me, all well under my budget! I looked at a large black Carter with gold detailing, 3 different Tillie satchels ( 1 navy corduroy, 1 over sized cream tweed and a plain leather in navy) and a Tillie drawstring in bright pink (beautiful but a tad impracticable colourwise).

After much deliberation I decided to go with the over sized Tillie in cream cotton tweed. I have always loved the Tillie family - much more feminine than the Alexa and after hearing that Tillie wouldn't be available anymore and at such a fab price i just had to have her! I spent a good 5 mins in front of the mirror, testing out all ways this bag can be worn and i have to say value for money - 3 bags in one (on crook of arm/on shoulder/across the body).

So original price £895, reduced to £495, final reductions meant i paid £295! Apparently i had timed my trip perfectly as it was the last week of final reductions!

I also treated myself to a brooch - small till point purchase which at £10 reduced from £70 was a great last minute find.

The whole experience was a pleasure as i think designer shopping should be. There are not many places on the high street that you will get such personal service. Everything from the initial greeting, to the care and attention given to packaging up my purchases in dust bags and the final tie of the ribbon on the equally beautiful carrier bag.

I am so happy with my purchases and although we did end up driving the wrong way down a one way street trying to get out of York i would say a very successful trip - just have to break the news to hubby that there will be a return visit at some point!

So if you are looking to invest in a Mulberry bag make sure to visit this amazing store - well worth it!
