So its that time of year again - London Fashion Week and as usual i have been eagerly awaiting information and images from the Mulberry show. This year the uber-brand decided to stream the show live from fashion week for all of us that are not lucky enough to be on the front row.  I have to say normally at 10am on a Sunday morning i am still comatose in my bed, however this morning i was poised in front of my computer coffee in hand waiting to be inspired and inspired i was.

The scene is set - Black walls lit with stars, beautiful chandeliers hung from the ceiling and two enormous Mulberry monsters guarding the catwalk entrance. This collection was inspired by Maurice Sendak’s book Where The Wild Things Are, as well as textural furry fabrics and mysterious prints. As inspirations go this seems in keeping with that of the last 3 seasons - since Emma Hill took over as creative director.

Key elements: fur, leather, lace, embellishment, texture, layering and print.
Key Colours: Brown, gold, grey, camel, white, black, navy and orange.
Key pieces: Jackets/Gilet, Pencil skirts, Cocktail dresses, polo neck tops, Print parka/bomber, fur lapels and hoods, the faithful Mulberry handbags and skinny studded belts.

The AW12 show was also the first appearance of the newest member of the Mulberry bag family - the Del Rey. Inspired by American songstress Lana Del Rey.

Here are a few of my favourite looks from the show:

Although i cannot wait for the summer to arrive - this collection has made the prospect of next winter seem less gloomy and given it a sense of excitement and anticipation that only Mulberry can give.

So the spring/summer season is almost upon us - and lets be truthful with all the current snow, spring seems a long way off.

I am always excited to see the new SS collections and my favorite as always is Mulberry.
This years collection is no exception - a pastel party with a campaign shot at the seaside featuring giant ice cream cones and sticks of rock.
This collection promises to bring back childhood memories and inject some much needed glamour and colour back into our lives.
